Ten living lakes
Touch the water's edge (reverently, not literally swimming) of ten different surviving lakes in one day. Bangalore once had hundreds.
How to do it
- Choose ten lakes that still exist, such as Ulsoor, Sankey Tank, Hebbal, Lalbagh, Jakkur, Nagawara, Madiwala, Agara, Puttenahalli and Bellandur.
- Reach the water's edge at each one. Where a lake is fenced, the nearest public edge counts.
- Do not swim, and do not touch water that is frothing or visibly polluted.
- Look up which neighbourhoods are named after lakes that have gone.
