How to do it
- The Hampi Express (Mysuru to Hubballi) runs overnight through Bengaluru to Hosapete. Check the boarding station and book sleeper or 3AC early.
- Take an auto from Hosapete to Hampi.
- Climb Matanga Hill for sunrise on Saturday.
- Rent a cycle for the ruins, then take the train back on Sunday night.
